What can we fix?

Hard water like Tampa's also leaves mineral buildup in faucet cartridges, toilet fill valves and shower heads, and that buildup is a common reason fixtures start dripping, running or losing pressure. Some of these are quick repairs. Others are a sign the fixture is worn out, and replacing it can make more sense than repairing it again. We tell you which one you are looking at and give you both prices when both are options. We repair and replace toilets, faucets, shower valves, garbage disposals and shutoff valves. Small jobs get the same treatment as big ones: the owner walks the job, you get the price in writing before we start, and you see photos of the finished work.

  • Running and leaking toilets

Worn flappers, fill valves and wax rings. We stop the running, the rocking or the leak at the base, and replace the toilet when it is not worth fixing.

  • Dripping and loose faucets

Kitchen, bathroom and outdoor faucets. We replace the cartridge or the whole faucet, whichever is the better value for you.

  • Garbage disposals

Jammed, humming, leaking or dead disposals repaired or replaced. If your home is on septic, we will talk about whether you need one at all.

  • Shower valves and tub spouts

A dripping shower head, a handle that will not shut off, or water that will not get hot or cold enough.

  • Shutoff valves

Old shutoffs under sinks and behind toilets often will not close when you need them. We replace them so you can turn off one fixture without shutting off the house.

How pricing works

What will it cost?

The owner walks the job and gives you the price in writing before any work starts. That goes for a small repair too.

We don't post prices online, because the right fix depends on what we find in your home.

Questions we get

Questions about toilets, faucets and fixtures.

Is a running toilet worth fixing right away?

Yes. A toilet that runs or refills on its own wastes water all day, and the fix is often a flapper or fill valve. To check for a silent leak, put a few drops of food coloring in the tank and wait 10 minutes without flushing. Color in the bowl means it is leaking.

Should I repair or replace my faucet?

If the faucet is in good shape and parts are available, a new cartridge usually fixes a drip. If it is corroded, loose at the base or has already been repaired before, replacing it is often the better value. We give you both prices.

Why does my faucet or shower head have low pressure?

Often it is mineral buildup from hard water in the aerator or shower head, and cleaning or replacing it can bring the flow back. If the pressure is low at every fixture in the house, the cause is more likely the pipes or the main line, and we will check that.

Do you repair garbage disposals?

Yes. A disposal that hums but will not spin is usually jammed, and freeing the jam often gets it running again. One that leaks or has stopped completely may need a repair or a new unit, and we tell you which after we look at it. If your home is on septic, the EPA recommends limiting disposal use, so it is worth asking whether you need one.
